Bamboo Hostel and Tours Review – A Lovely Oasis in Palawan

Bamboo Hostel and Tours

Palawan has always been a special place in my heart and I always find myself traveling here like every year. Now, I found myself staying here indefinitely because I got a place to do volunteer work. At first, I stayed with a friend for more than a month. But there are times that I also want to spend my time to meet other travelers.

About

The owners Rye and Tina are travelers and decided to create a quiet space in beautiful Palawan for fellow travelers. Rye has lived in five countries: the Philippines, the USA, Colombia, Brazil, and Cambodia.

With their ethos: “Bamboo Hostel is made by travelers, for travelers.” They have several volunteers from all over the world who helped to work on the hostel through Workaway. I found out I am the first Filipina volunteer. I directly sent an email with the interest of working on their website in exchange for free accommodation.

Mission

Bamboo Hostel and ToursBamboo Hostel’s mission is to provide a peaceful environment to tired backpackers through cleanliness, friendly service, and reasonable prices. In my own experience, I always wake up on a sunny day with blue skies and hearing the bird’s chirping. When it’s raining, it’s just chill. The feels with mother nature. If you’re into meditation and yoga, it’s a good place to just do it yourself. The place has a good space for everyone.

The staff here are very friendly. If you meet the main receptionist, Rose, she can also help you with the tours and transfers.
