This is the first time I have to write like a year-ender travel blog post as I have not done this in 2013. This is also a sneak preview of where I’ve been in 2014. I never expected that 2014 has been a crazy year of traveling. Although I have lots of 2013 travels and from other previous years I haven’t blogged, well, the purpose of this site is for repository. Hopefully, I could get up to date with my travels for 2015. I have lots of things to share next year for some tips and travel experiences that I’ve learned in 2014.
In 2015, I’m challenging myself to do solo travel or backpacking with a limited budget. I will get serious being a digital nomad. 😀 *crossing fingers*
Here’s the 10 places I’ve been in 2014.
1. Holy Week in Madridejos, Cebu (Bantayan Island) – April 2014
Family tradition every Holy Week
I have shared this on my previous blog post about this family tradition we have every Holy Week which you can find it here. At this time, I didn’t worry any work to do.

2. Boracay – Iloilo – Guimaras May 2014
Boracay with friends
They had their 3 nights stay in Boracay except me as I only booked a one way ticket on May 2, 2014 and flew with them on the 9th. It was an on-the-spot decision because I’ve never been to Boracay. They already booked their ticket months away from the said date. Yes, I had my 5-day stay in Panay area.
Feeling sexy in Boracay
Eating LaPaz Batchoy in Iloilo is a must!
From Boracay, me and Kim stayed in Iloilo until the 13th of May as I found a cheap hostel to stay. I only had few photos in Iloilo as we never roamed around that much. But eating LaPaz batchoy is a must!
Guimaras Island Day Tour with Kim
Kim flew from Cebu to Iloilo alone to meet me at Iloilo Airport because I told her she must come with me and check out Iloilo and Guimaras Island. Boracay was out of the picture for her as because it was out of the budget.
Feeling adventurous at Guisi Light House
Cheers to mango shakes!
The reason I came here for Guimaras is because of the mangoes. I love mangoes so much that I bought 5 kilos for pasalubong.
3. Camiguin – August 2014
With mom, sister and friends
I already have pre-booked the tickets before Boracay. Kim should be on this trip but because of personal emergency at home, she could not join. In order not to waste the ticket, my sister came in. It was a 3-day stay in Camiguin.
Behind me is the Katibawasan Falls!
Feeling alluring at White Beach 😛
4. El Nido, Palawan – September 2014
Backpacker friends from France 😀
Going to El Nido, Palawan was on the spot, thanks to Samy for the one-way ticket. I fell in love with the place and surely I want to go back hopefully to stay for a month. I spent a night in Puerto Princesa with Thomas and Damien as it was their time to go back to Paris. I had my 10-day stay in Palawan. I had to go back to Cebu a day before my mom’s birthday.
I’m sexy in blue 😉
Thanks Jonas and Malou for taking care of us!

5. Hongkong and Macau – October 2014
With friends while waiting for the Symphony of Lights
We booked this flight in October 2013 so it was a year in the making before this trip happened.
With backpackers from Scotland and Australia – I got the idea from them of working in a hostel for free accommodation! 😉
It was my first time to stay in a hostel and it was great to hear Greg and Ben about their backpacking experience in Southeast Asia. Because of them, I never thought that volunteer work in a hostel is a possibility. So that’s what I am going to do for 2015. To work in a hostel for free accommodation. 😀
We stayed for 4 days which I thought was not enough. Because of my 10 days in Palawan, next travel should be 10 days or more. 😉

6. Gilutongan Island, Cordova, Cebu – October and November 2014
My first time to join volunteer work and do outreach activity with @letsdoitph although i went there solo. I personally didn't knew everyone but I only coordinated with Dann, Victoria, Lyn and Maam Niema through Facebook, text and phone call on how to get to Gilutongan Island and for a hitch ride. All my way from Naga to Gilutongan Island, the weekend was well spent. It's something that I should continue to do. I gained a lot of friends in return. #letsdoitph #cebu #trashHeroesProject #volunteerWork
With fellow volunteers 😀
After my very short trip in Hong Kong and a graduation to attend after, I realized that I need to give back something to the community which is to join a volunteer activity. Thanks to SEED4COM and Let’s Do It Philippines for the opportunity. I was able to meet new people and gain new friends. This is a monthly activity with an overnight stay in the island.
Stand-up Paddleboarding 😀 thanks JayR Monceda for the photo!
7. San Remigio Beach Club – November 2014

8. Moalboal – December 2014
With Bontuyan Family, Birthday Bash of Alieth’s mom!
Many nights we had our emergency meetings for LDI Team, I was able to stay in Cebu City. Thanks to Alieth for adopting me. 😉 I got invited to join them in Moalboal for her mom’s birthday. After the celebration, I decided to stay for a night but extended another night before I went back home just a 2-hour bus ride from Moalboal to Naga.
With friends from Moalboal Backpacker Lodge, thanks Victoria and Analou! 😀

10. Bohol Bee Farm in Dauis, Bohol – December 2014
Feeling sexy at the jacuzzi 😀
After Camotes Island, we went to Bohol. We spent an afternoon in the orphanage for a visit. At Bohol Bee Farm, I was amazed that everything I was eating were all organic. All I did was eat and eat during my travels.
