Never thought that I always have a yearly trip to Palawan which started back in 2014. I always find myself booking a one-way ticket. Maybe, I am just lucky that I found good friends who live in Palawan. I never heard of this little village called Port Barton. Last June 2017, I got the chance to visit this place as I got invited. Sweet!

What did I bring as a Digital Nomad?
Funny as I mentioned in the title that it is a perfect place for a digital detox. But seems I can’t live without my laptop as I was chasing to finish a project that time.
The original plan was just for 3 days so I brought:
- Lenovo laptop and a backpack
- my Olympus Tough camera (amazing underwater camera)
- Huawei pocket wifi
- iPad
- Oppo camera phone
- power bank
- Snorkeling mask and gear
- 2 sets of swim wear
- clothes (shirt, undies, shorts) good for 2 days
- dry bag
- toiletries
Amazing, I just brought 2 bags with me (a laptop backpack and a dry bag) but the 3 days stay became 7 days.

How to get to Port Barton?
There are three ways to reach Port Barton from Puerto Princesa, you can take a:
- bus – go to the terminal bus station at San Jose (P250)
- van – same as where the buses are
- motorcycle – rent a motorcycle and drive
It’s 3-4 hours of travel time. The fare must be around 450-600. But I remember when I was in El Nido, it was 500-600 for 6 hours inside the van.

If I got the chance to return, definitely I would go back. I had a wonderful experience in Port Barton for a week and it’s lovelier if with a boyfriend. Port Barton is a paradise you shouldn’t miss out. It is best to travel with a group of friends. Traveling solo is also fine as you have the time of your life doing meditation and keeping yourself at peace.
