In few days, I will be traveling to Taiwan for the first time. I am not yet prepared, I haven’t packed my bags yet. Currently, I am busy with my job and it is just today I was able to ask permission to my client for me to travel on my birthday, a first time to do this.
I just picked-up my passport today with a Japan visa. It was my third application with a single entry visa. A multiple entry was never granted on my second attempt.

Hi Roxanne,
How long is the wait after you’ve applied for visa-free entry? Also I just entered my 7-digit Korean visa number, and I’ve read that I should’ve entered the 4 digits below my visa number. Would you know if the Taiwanese Embassy will just ask me for the 4 missing numbers, or if they’ll flat out deny the application for the omission?
Thank you
Hi, just after I filled up the form then ready to print na sha. š
Oh no…it’s been 5 hours since I applied and I got nothing š
Hello Miss Rox.
Approved na ako ng TAC. Kaso ang nailagay kong Visa number (Korea) is ung ORANGE OR RED INK. Kaso ung visa number daw dapat is ung MAY PH sa right upper.
Pwede ba mag-reapply ulit kasi namali?
Hindi ba sya mavovoid kahit after 1 week ko ja sya napansin ireapply ulit?
Huhuhu please help
Hello, try mo ulit if Pwede. Thanks.
Hi Roxanne,
Followed your instructions & sent my application last sunday, usually how long bago nila i-send sa email ko yung travel certi? Today is tuesday na. If hindi ko makareceive travel certi until friday, pwede ulit ako mag re-apply? Worry ko is baka magkaproblem pag nag double entry application ko. Thank you so much! š
Hi, if you have Japan visa, you can get the travel certification right away ready to print na sha.
Hi!
I have a 5-year Multiple entry tourist visa (Japan) so basically, according sa imong blog, which is really helpful, I can travel to Taiwan.
But,
Can I travel to Taiwan, then South Korea, then Japan, then back to Cebu. Like, I have to prepare 4 one-way tickets. Cebu – Taiwan – Korea – Japan – Cebu.
Naa kay info if pwede ba?
You need to apply for South Korea visa
My Korea Visa expired on 2011 which is in my passport that expired in 2013. I’ve already renewed my passport. Should I just bring my expired passport with korea visa along with my new passport and present it to the immigration. Would it still be valid?
Yes always bring your old passport with the visas please. Thanks.
one more thing, my other friends plan to apply for a Korean Visa instead of Taiwan Visa. Can they use the newly issued Korean visa to get authorization for Taiwan even though they will not use it in Korea.
Hi, if you’re friends are lucky to have a South Korea visa, yes they can use it.
super helpful!!! my japan visa expired last year so i’m glad to know i’m exempt. thanks roxanne!
Welcome š
Hi roxanne! I visited Taiwan last April using the travel certificate with my Korean Visa and I am planning to visit Taiwan again in November. Can I use again the same Korean Visa to apply for the travel certificate on November? Thank you.
Hi! Yes you can.
Hello,
I am currently in Japan with a residence card and a working visa.I plan to go to Taiwan departing from Narita Airport come August. Are all those requirements mentioned above apply for my case too? Which is better to put in applying for the travel authorization, the residence card or the visa? Also, what else do you think should I need to prepare other than the passport, visa and the travel authorization?
Thank you!
You have a residence card and a working visa so you are fine and can visit Taiwan. Enjoy! š
Hi,
I’m planning to travel to Taiwan in October. Is it okay to just apply for Korean visa first and then use it for application of ROC Taiwan Travel Authorization Certificate since it cheaper compare to applying for Taiwan visa that will cost me Php2400.
Thank you.
Hi Marc, you can try to apply Korean visa. But I read somewhere that maybe September Taiwan will be visa free. Anyway, you have options. If you get the Korean visa then you’re good.
Can you print the certificate in black or does it have to be printed in color?
Ok Lang black and white
Hi, will be travelling to taiwan this August, sira kc printer sa haus so I had it printed sa computer shop… Yung print out nya maliit lng ba tlg? Or need na whole short bond paper?
Whole short bond paper Lang
Hello, Ms. Rox!
ask ko po, kase i’m using my travel certificate now, i’m in Twn right now 30 days stay since i’m visiting my husband and i’ll be leaving back to Philippines on August 6 (need to exit kase 30 days lang ako dito).
My travel certificate authorization expiry date is: August 25, 2017.
I am planning to go back to Twn again on August 19,2017 using the same travel cert authorization. My question is, do you think i’ll be able to stay for 30 days again? knowing na yung expiry date ng TCA ko is Aug 25..?
Thanks!
Apply ka ulit bagong travel authorization certificate. Last April I was there in Taiwan for 25 days using ROC travel cert with expiration date sa June 5. Bumalik ako noong May until June for 26 days so kumuha ako bagong travel cert expiration date. Just get a new travel cert if you keep on coming back to Taiwan.
Hello po Ms. Rox.
I have a Japan visa that will expire on July 27. Hindi po ako makakapunta ng Japan due to circumtances,
Plan ko po sana mag apply korean Visa, Pwedi na po kaya ako mag apply? Or wait ko pa po mag expired Japan Visa ko? Thank you.
Yes you can apply South Korea if you don’t have one.

medyo kinakabahan kasi ako baka biglang di maka entry sa taiwan. Super dami mo kasi napost sa IG mo na ang saya puntahan sa taiwan kaya sayang kung di ako makaka punta. hehe.
Hi Jeri, my two single entry visa expired last 2015 so yes you can use it. I’ve been to Taiwan 4 times already with an expired Japan visa. Thanks.
Thank you rox! Will update you on my certificate and trip. This september 15 kasi ang trip ko.
Last question. Kailan ba dapat magaapply nung travel cert? And how long is the validity?
Super thank you
Kahit the day before your flight Pwede mag apply just make sure to print it. 3 months Yong validity pero 30 days allowed of stay.
Wow! Thanks! Super helpful!!!
Welcome
Hi rox!
Thank you!! Your blog is right. I enjoyed my stay in taiwan. Hassle free. Also its great that the weather is ok there.
Thank you!!!
Will keep following your blog! š
Hi Jeri!
Wow I’m so happy for you, you enjoyed Taiwan. š
Hi Ms. Roxanne,
I have tourist visa in japan and I’ve use it last Oct, 2013. And I am planning to go to Taiwan this September. Magagamit ko pa kaya ung visa ko sa Japan for applying for ROC sa Taiwan? Thank you š
Yes you can use it.
Hi ask ko lang pano ninyo nilagay yung flight/vessel no.? Dapat po ba ilagay both flight number papunta Taipei and pabalik ng Manila? thanks!
Nasa boarding pass yon kopyahon mo.
Is the ROC free po Miss Rox?
Free Lang sya if you have Japan visa.
My babayadan pa po ba kung kukuha ROC?
Hello, if may Japan visa ka and other visas mentioned, it’s free. Unless kukuha ka ng visa sa Taiwan which is Yong may bayad.
Hi po Miss Rox. I will apply for the ROC. Regarding po sa Flight/Vessel No. DO ihave to indicate po ung papunta and pabalik sa Taiwan na flight number ko? And for the expected entry date po ung can it be advance po or yung tlagang date ng pag enter mo sa Taiwan not ung pg alis mo dito? thank yo uso much
You can fill that up sa arrival card nila. Just follow the screenshot po for you to see.
This is very informative, I already got my ROC a while ago, just follow the screenshot roc thanks
Wow thanks for following and I’m excited for your taiwan trip š
Hi sis, I recommend using paint or erase to block out details on your passport instead of blurring it. I have read somewhere before that doing so would lessen your exposure to online identity theft. Pixelating can be as dangerous as exposing the graphics as it is algorithm based. So it is kinda easy for others to rearrange the image. I am not sure about blurring but I do know that as long as they see enough details, they can easily unlock the images š ciao!
Hi! I saw your post regarding the taiwan visa! I was wondering, is it okay that I used the ISSUE number and not the number on the upper right corner as a verification number?
I think you did the same. No problems were encountered naman right?
No problem po. Everything is ok.
Hi miss Rox, ask ko lang kase since it’s visa-free na diba 14 days lang allowed to stay? i’ve been to Taiwan for several times na Single entry good for 30 days, can i still stay there for 30 days tourist? my husband is there kase, but id like to stay for 30 days parin the same as before…pano po?
by the way, my last 2 visits (june and august) i used my visa-exempt sa Japan visa ko to go there..and im planning this December to go back again and 30 days pa rin, how po?
thanks!
Use your Japan visa to have 30 days stay in Taiwan po.
Hi. Since its visa free na sa taiwan. No need to present ung evisa? Kase nakakuha na ko ng evisa before pa nag announce na visa free pa e. Ano po ba usually tinatanong sa immigration? Im a soll traveller po.
Just bring your e-visa with you. I think you won’t have a problem anyway.
Dear Roxanne,
Iām Lee and I appreciate this post so much for the fact that I will be traveling to Taiwan in less than 2 weeks from now. I will also be using the Travel Authorization Certificate with my New Zealand visa.
I would like to ask you though. When using this method to visit Taiwan, at the immigration counter do officials stamp the passports? How was your experience, Roxanne?
Thank you very much and Iām looking forward to hearing back from you! š
Yes there’s a stamp.
Hi, May I know where is the Japan visa number? is it at the upper right corner? Thanks
I’ve always used my OECD visa whenever I go to Taipei prior to the visa free situation we have right now… I never realized na 30 days pala yung visa na yun! wahhh…. I wonder kung pwede parin kaya makakuha ng 30 days for free without a visa…
Eh. Super sayang na kasi 14 days free na. Gusto ko yong 30 days with OECD visa. <3
Hey gorgeous Roxanne, I have a question if you don’t mind answering! Are you sure you get 30 days stay with this ROC travel authorization? And were you asked to show return flight tickets while in the immigration? Can you tell me what kind of documents they would like to see once I arrive with the ROC in the Taiwan airport? Thanks so much!
Hi Jill. 14 days visa-free to Taiwan for Philippine passport holders is until July 2019. I got the 30 days to stay with ROC travel authorization cert before the 14 days visa-free has been implemented.
Are you a Philippine passport holder? For now, please enjoy the 14-day visa-free stay po. Thanks.
Just tried to apply for a visa-exempt entry at https://niaspeedy.immigration.gov.tw/nia_southeast/. The Philippines is not on the list. The form is also asking for a flight number and an expected entry date. I have been eyeing this for a couple of months now and the Philippines has always been on the list. Is there a different site for the Philippines? Or did they change the visa arrangements? š
Hi! They changed the visa arrangement because the Philippines is visa-free for 14 days until July 2019. Thanks.
I have expired ROC Taiwan visa (on 2013), so should I apply for Taiwan online visa on it?
ATM, Philippines are visa-free for 14 days until July 2019. There’s no need to apply online visa for now.
pano po mam japan visa po ako pano po mg apply ng tourist sa taiwan pa.help po my ticket napo aq at hotel need pa po ba ng ROC?
Hi, traveling to Taiwan is visa-free until July 2019 so don’t worry about the ROC. I’ve heard that they will extend it to December 2019.
Hi,
I am an Indian citizen and I am aware that I do not need visa to enter Taiwan. My question is regarding the Online application to obtain Travel Authorization Certificate. In the application it is asking for Flight/Vessel No. I am going to take 3 connecting flights to reach to Taipei. Which flight number should I mention in the form? Thank you in advance
Your 3rd flight to reach Taipei, of course.
