Sts. Peter and Paul Church is located in the heart of Bantayan town. The church is made of stones and corals and it is the oldest parish in the Visayas and Mindanao founded in June 1580. A lot of people come here during Holy Week to celebrate. Some people expect to come to the island for a fiesta and eat pork. As what I’ve heard last night from the news, that kind of rule from the Vatican was already expired. So if you ever come here during the Holy Week, make sure that it’s for religious purposes. 🙂
From the town of Sta. Fe, you can take a tricycle ride in going to Bantayan town proper. So here are some of the shots I took during the time I went there:
This is the town plaza of Bantayan just across the church. The plaza is very refreshing for stand-byers.
Of course, dried fishes and other sea food are known here for danggit and buwad nukos. You can buy at the market and deal for a price if you want to buy in bulk for pasalubong.
